Need a ride? The following services are useful for arranging transportation to the Center and other appointments.

Hyde Shuttle

The Hyde Shuttle program provides door-to-door van service throughout many communities in King County for adults aged 55+ and adults with disabilities. Friendly, specially trained drivers transport riders to hot meal programs, medical appointments, senior centers, grocery stores, and other local destinations. For those who have difficulty getting around, the service provides an opportunity to socialize and stay active within their communities.

Transportation is provided between 8 am and 4 pm, Monday through Friday. For a Rider’s Guide outlining all Hyde Shuttle policies and procedures, visit the Hyde Shuttle website.

Volunteer Transportation

Volunteer Transportation Service (VTS) helps King County seniors (60 years or older) get to vital medical appointments within King County. An amazing group of volunteers use their personal vehicles to transport riders to medical appointments, including dental, physical therapy, vision, and hearing as well as other necessary destinations, such as pharmacies and food banks. VTS cannot provide transport for procedures that require a caregiver.

Rides are dependent on volunteer availability and are not guaranteed. Transportation is available every weekday, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm. VTS requests two weeks’ advance notice for any ride requests. Rides are FREE, but donations are welcome. For seniors living with disabilities, you must be able to get in and out of a small car or van with minimal assistance. Call (206) 448-5740 or (800) 282-5815 to request a ride or to get more information. VTS can provide interpreters during ride requests for non-English speakers. Representatives are available Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm.

Access Transportation

King County METRO’s Access Transportation Program provides transportation to riders who are found eligible through the ADA Paratransit Program. Access takes riders anywhere a METRO bus, Seattle streetcar, or Sound Transit light rail goes at that time and on that day of the week.
